Most Recent UpdateJune 21, 2012This Land That Was Desolate Has Become Like the Garden of the Lord (Desolation Restoration)The land of Canaan was beautiful when the Israelites entered it after coming out of Egypt and wandered in the wilderness 40 years. The Bible tells us that it was a land flowing with milk and honey (a prosperous land). Moses, in the book of Deuteronomy (as God directed him to write), told the children of Israel that they would disobey the Lord. As a result of their disobedience the Lord would scatter them from one end of the earth even unto the other. It was also said that the land would become desolate, which happened after they were driven out of their country. It became extremely desolate (Deut. It did not produce for the foreigners as it did for the Jews/Israelites (Hebrews) after they were scattered. The Jews/Israelites who were living in the northern kingdom were scattered when the Assyrians took it.
Feb 01, 2017 An original short episodic series. The story begins with a cowboy waking up to find himself in an abandoned, unfamiliar land. He searches for life in the desolate country, and soon finds himself a hunted man by a savage group of outlaws. Desolate Land SM Smogon Strategy Pokedex.
Later, at various times, the Babylonians invaded the southern kingdom which included Jerusalem. Once again the Jews/Israelites were scattered. After living in captivity for 70 years, some, if not many, of the Jews returned to their homeland, Israel and Jerusalem, under Zerubbabel and Nehemiah.
There may have been other leaders also.In 70 A.D. The Jews/Israelites who were in Jerusalem were captured and again they were driven out of the land.
The Jews/Israelites went to more than 100 nations of the world. During this time many Gentile nations controlled the land of Israel and Jerusalem.
Some people called this land Israel, while others called it Palestine.Other invading armies entered the land of Israel and Jerusalem from time to time (at various times in history) as well (From 70 A.D. This too caused the Jews/Israelites to leave their homeland and Jerusalem. They were scattered throughout the nations. In the late 1800's, some of the Jews/Israelites started returning to their ancient homeland. They began to reclaim the wastelands as Ezekiel said they would. Jerusalem had been under Gentile domination since before 70 A.D. The Romans controlled it in Jesus' day. It continued under Gentile domination until June 6, 1967; at which time the Jews/Israelites took the city of Jerusalem.
In later years, they took control of the land (Israel). The Israelites may give part of it to the Arabs, Palestinians, and other groups of people, but only for a short time. The Arabs, who receive portions of the land of Israel such as the West bank, the Gaza Strip, and so forth, abuse their right to the land by sending rockets and terrorists into Israel.
Israel has no other choice but to fight back and protect what is theirs. The British did provide a homeland for the Jews, but for a short time, then they left. From that time on Israel had to defend their land to keep it.Now, let's take a look at some of the prophecies. The Blessings Upon the Children of Israel and Their LandAs long as the Jews/Israelites were obedient to the Lord Jehovah they would remain in the land under God's protection and the land would prosper for them.' And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:'And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.'
28: 1 - 2)Deuteronomy 28: 3 - 14 tells us about the blessings. The Curses Upon the Children of Israel and Their LandIf the Jews/Israelites would not obey the Lord their God things would happen to them.' But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:' (Deut. 28: 15)Deuteronomy 28: 16 - 68 tells us about the curses. It is once again announced in this verse.'
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded thee:' (Deut. 28: 45) The Jews/Israelites Would be Driven OutThe children of Israel (the Hebrews) died due to war and disease. Others were taken captive and forced to leave their land.' The LORD shall make the pestilence (deceases) cleave unto thee, until He have consumed thee from off the land.' 28: 21)'The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.' 28: 25)'Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.'
28: 41)'And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest (you go) in to possess it.' (The land of Canaan.).'
And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other.' 28: 63 - 64)(See also Ezek. The Israelites Were Driven Out The AssyriansThe Assyrians invaded the Northern Kingdom of Israel. The King of Assyria and his army carried many of the Jews (Israelites) who lived in the areas given below back to Assyria.' In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.' (II Kings 15: 29)'Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.' (II Kings 17: 5 - 6)'Until the LORD removed Israel out of His sight, as He had said by all His servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.' (II Kings 17: 23) The BabyloniansThe King of Babylon and his army took the Southern Kingdom including Jerusalem, carrying the Jews/Israelites back to Babylon.
The Babylonians did this more than once.' The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue (language) thou shalt not understand;'A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young:'And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.'
28: 49 - 51)Those verses are referring to Babylon. The description of those things that are given below that the Scriptures talk about are the same things that happened in 70 A.D. The soldiers, and maybe the mother's too, ate their babies during the siege of Jerusalem. However, I think these Scriptures are referring to the things that happened during the sieges of Jerusalem when the Babylonians entered the land of Israel and Jerusalem.'
They shall besiege you at all your gates until your high and fortified walls, in which you trust, come down throughout all your land; and they shall besiege you at all your gates throughout all your land which the LORD your God has given you. You shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom the LORD your God has given you, in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you. The sensitive and very refined man among you will be hostile toward his brother, toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the rest of his children whom he leaves behind, so that he will not give any of them the flesh of his children whom he will eat, because he has nothing left in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you at all your gates.
The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her delicateness and sensitivity, will refuse to the husband of her bosom, and to her son and her daughter, her placenta which comes out from between her feet and her children whom she bears; for she will eat them secretly for lack of everything in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you at all your gates. If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book.' 28: 52 - 58) (The 3rd addition of the K.J.V.).
The RomansIn 70 A.D. The Roman General, Titus, invaded Jerusalem when he and his army entered the land of Israel. A lot of the Jews/Israelites died, some were captured, and others fled their homeland. Read Matthew 24: 2, Daniel 9: 26, Luke 19: 41 - 44, 21: 20 - 23, and the first part of verse 24. They tell about the war in 70 A.D. (If you choose to you can read Daniel 2: 40 and 7: 7. The fourth kingdom was the Roman Empire.).The Assyrians, Babylonians, Romans, and others, invaded the land of Israel.
A portion of the Jews (Israelites) were killed when those armies entered the land. Others were taken captive and carried into their enemies' lands. Sometimes the Lord would allow some of the Jews/Israelites to return to Israel and Jerusalem, but only to be scattered again. If they themselves were not driven from their homeland their siblings (and descendents) were. In due time the Jews/Israelites entered more than 100 countries of the world. The Land Become DesolateWhen they choose not to be obedient to the Lord He drove them out of their land and it become desolate as the Scriptures given below tell how the land would become desolate.' The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust.'
28: 24)'All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.' 28: 42)'For I will lay (make) the land most desolate, and the pomp of her arrogant strength shall cease, and the mountains of Israel shall be so desolate that none (no one) will pass through.' 'Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid (made) the land most desolate because of all their abominations (evil deeds/sins) which they have committed.' 33: 28 - 29)The invading armies had carried the children of Israel off into captivity. The Jews (Israelites) were not farming the land. The foreigners who entered the land were cutting down most of the trees in Israel.
As a result of this, the land of Israel become desolate. Eventually, the entire land became desolate. It would not produce for the foreigner as it did for the children of Israel. The land of Israel was desolate in the days of Edom. Edom would become desolate as well because the Edomites boasted against the mountains/land of Israel and God.
35: 12 - 13, 15, 36: 4 - 6, 10 - 12.).' And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.' 'Thus with your mouth ye (you) (Mount Seir, the Edomites) have boasted against Me, and have multiplied your words against Me: I have heard them.'
'Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.' 'As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.' 35: 12 - 15) The Reason They Were ScatteredThe Jews/Israelites were dispersed (scattered) throughout the world for their sin. For more details read Jeremiah 7: 31, 11: 17 and 19: 4 - 5.' Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,'Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before Me as the uncleanness of a removed woman (in her customary impurity).' 'Wherefore (therefore) I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:'And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.'
'And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned My holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of His land.' 'But I had pity for Mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.' 'Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for Mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.' 'And I will sanctify My great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.' 36: 16 - 23)(See also Ezek. The Children of Israel Returning to Their Ancient Homeland and Reclaiming It Returning to Their Own LandIt is prophesied that the Jews/Israelites would return to their own land (Isa. When they returned to their ancient homeland they would reclaim the wastelands, build their cities, till and sow the land, plant crops and trees as well (Isa.
The land would produce fruits, vegetables, trees, and so forth as they returned to Israel. This has happened. There are enough Jews/Israelites back in their land to fulfill the prophecies. They have returned from more than 100 countries of the world. Some of the prophecies given below will be fulfilled when the 1000 year reign of Christ begins.'
For I will take you (the house of Israel) from among the heathen (gentiles), and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.' 'Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.' 'A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.'
'And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them.' 'And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be My people, and I will be your God.'
'I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.' 'And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.'
'Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.' 'Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.'
'Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded (built).' 'And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.' 'And they (those who see the land) shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.' 'Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build (built) the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.' 'Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.' 'As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.'
36: 24 - 38)(See also Ezek. 34: 12 - 13.). The Land Would Respond to the Children of IsraelThe land would respond to the Lord's command to produce fruit, corn, and other crops, as the Jews/Israelite returned to their homeland. Ezekiel said the land would yield (produce) fruit for them (Ezek. 34: 27, 36: 8, 30).
The land is flourishing.'
